Canada will boycott Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad’s speech at the United Nations on Wednesday, saying his outbursts about the Holocaust and Israel are “shameful.”And from the CBC, Stephen Harper, speaking today in Oakville:

I'm not sure I'd really call it "leadership," but it's the right thing to do, that's for sure.
On the other hand, if you're willing to wade into the muck on the CBC comment boards, you'll find not a small number of commentors suggesting that it was the wrong decision, or because the "Zionists" forced us to, or not even commenting on the UN speech at all, rather just saying that Israel is the worst country on earth.
Sometimes, after reading though those comments, I seriously fear for Canada.
