The funeral of Henry Allingham takes place in Brighton, England today. At 113 years, Allingham was the oldest man in the world. He was also one of the handful of remaining survivors of World War I.His survival is all the more remarkable as he was an aircraft mechanic, observer and gunner who went aloft and fought in the earliest days of aerial warfare.
